Job Description

At the Institute of Telecommunications, Research Unit Wireless Communication, TU Wien is offering a 30-hours/week position as an Assistant (prae-doc) financed from reseach project, limited to 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: October 2024.

Tasks:
-Research to develop innovative resource management strategies using game theory, machine learning, and/or numerical optimization to improve the performance of wireless networks. The focus is on creating sustainable and adaptive solutions that consider the uncertainty about the dynamic wireless environment to meet specific network and user requirements.
-Teaching tasks (exercises, labs, exams), student guidance.
-Assistance with bachelor and master thesis supervision.
-Scientific publishing (journal and conference papers, dissertation).
-Participation in scientific events.
-Assistance with organizational and administrative tasks.

Your profile:
-Master of Science (M.Sc.) or diploma degree in electrical engineering and information technology with a focus on telecommunications or communication engineering or in related fields like Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics.
-Expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: communications engineering, communication networks, numerical optimization, signal processing, or machine learning.
-Proficiency in programming and simulating communication systems, particularly with tools such as Matlab or Python.
-Very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
-Interest in academic research and teaching.
-Advanced problem-solving skills and scientific curiosity.
-Commitment, independent working style, ability to work in a team, very good communication skills.
