Detection algorithms for passive radar

The Signal Processing Group (GTS) of the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) is looking for a candidate to fill a predoctoral research position. We offer a 3-year contract with an approximate gross salary of €18,000 per year (negotiable depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidates).
The work is aimed at the design of detection algorithms for passive radar. We will consider the design, implementation (using the Python and MATLAB programming languages) and analysis of different algorithms. The work is part of an R&D project funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
Candidates must have programming experience in Python and MATLAB. Knowledge in the following fields will be positively assessed:
• Detection theory (likelihood ratio, generalized likelihood ratio, locally most powerful test);
• Estimation theory (maximum likelihood estimator, Bayesian estimators);
• Optimization;
• Array processing;

The contract will start on January 1st or as soon as possible after that date.
