Job Description

Within the context of a national collaborative project related to the security of the Olympic and Paralympic Games of Paris 2024, EURECOM is engaged in developing new technologies for video surveillance beyond the state-of-the-art.
We are actively looking for a post-doctoral researcher (M/F) to investigate the use of thermal and near infrared imagery for H24 crowd analysis. The work will include the study and development of artificial intelligence based techniques for automatic crowd analysis, crowd density estimation, and the detection of unexpected events. As the existing crowd analysis systems are mostly based on visible-light imagery, another key objective of the work is to investigate the use of different light spectra (thermal, near infrared) and to develop and to evaluate methods for spectrum conversion: thermal to visible, near infrared to visible. Programming skills (Matlab & Python) are required in order to develop modules to be integrated in the system prototypes for final technical demonstrations attached to the project.
