Job Description

Applications are invited for PhD scholarships in signal processing for wireless communications systems. The scholarships are funded by the Brazilian research councils CNPq and CAPES. The topic of the study is open within the general area of wireless communications. Potential topics include but are not limited to:

- Multiple-antenna systems (massive, cell-free, etc)
- Multi-carrier systems
- Precoding and receiver design
- Channel coding: LDPC and Polar codes
- Resource allocation, network slicing, optimization

Deadline for applications: 25th November
Start date: early March 2020

This is an exciting international opportunity for a candidate with (or expecting) an MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related areas who wishes to pursue a PhD programme. The requisite for the application is to have very good grades (GPA > 70%), dedication and passion for research. The successful candidate will be based at PUC-Rio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will colaborate with national partners and visit international partners, and is expected to attend international conferences and collaborate extensively with international experts.

The scholarships are open to everyone and the scholarship is abt US$ 700 per month. Additional funding might be available with industrial projects requiring extra 4-6 hours per week.
