Ph.D. Thesis on Information Theory and Multimodality
The closing date for this job submission has passed.
Job Description
When using two or more modalities, the main objectives are to enhance the quality, accuracy, and (temporal, spatial, etc.) resolution of the output signals.
Despite the intuitive expectation to always achieve some enhancement, in practice, however, improvement is not always observed. The global objective is to investigate, and to formalize in the Information Theory framework, for a given task and a given set of modalities, what is an optimal combination and what is the maximally possible enhancement, which can be achieved by optimally using the modalities.
