Job Description

A full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position is available, starting July 2013, in the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione, University of Pisa, Italy. The position can be filled initially for 12 months, with a strong possibility of extension for one additional year depending on the candidate's performance.

The Postdoctoral fellow is expected to have significant freedom in choosing the research direction he/she wants to pursue in wireless communications, broadly defined. The Postdoctoral fellow will be encouraged to collaborate with existing faculty to strengthen and enrich the Department’s already existing competencies.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a PhD with a strong academic track record and demonstrated research productiveness in relevant areas of wireless communications. Priority areas of specialization are: small cells (dense, low power, full reuse networks), massively cooperating wireless networks, interference management and modeling in heterogenous and multi-tier networks, distributed optimization in cellular networks, device-to-device communications.
• Candidates with a strong expertise in applied mathematics will also be considered.
• Candidates must have the ability to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent writing and oral communication skills are required.

Compensation

Salary level will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full salary are given during illness and paid holidays.
