Postdoctoral Fellowships in Wireless Communications Systems

Programme of Electrical Engineering, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Applications are invited for 2 postdoctoral fellowships in wireless communications systems for cloud radio access networks (CRANs). These fellowships are funded by the Internet Committee in Brazil. The topic of the study is open within the general area of wireless communications. Potential topics include but are not limited to:

- Massive MIMO
- Low-resolution signal processing techniques
- Precoding and receiver design
- Channel coding: LDPC and Polar codes
- Internet of things (IOT)

Deadline for application: 3rd December 2017
Start date: March 2017

This is an exciting international opportunity for a candidate with (or expecting) an PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related areas. The requisite for application is to have published in an IEEE/IET/Eurasip journal. The successful candidate will be based at PUC-Rio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will colaborate with national partners and visit international partners, and is expected to attend international conferences and collaborate extensively with international experts.

The 2 fellowships are open to everyone and the net salary is US$ 2000 per month. One of the fellowships has a duration of 1 year and the other 4 years. Additional funding might be available with industrial projects and with partner institutions requiring extra 4-6 hours per week.
